How Does NU Psychology Support Parents?
NU Psychology offers parent therapy or coaching sessions. Parent sessions are available in person, online, or by phone.
Parent sessions at NU Psychology aim to guide parents and provide ideas for supporting their child's needs. Parent sessions may involve information on "best parenting practices" or providing resources directed towards using an approach that aligns with your families goals. We also support parents from a developmental lens, and can help with implementing age appropriate strategies. Coaching sessions may involve discussions around family goals, setting boundaries, supporting children in difficult times, implementing schedules, screen time challenges, how to support academic difficulties, and sibling rivalry.
Parents may be also experiencing their own stress or challenges that make it difficult to parent in certain moments. We help parents navigate such moments - especially during emotional storms. NU Psychology values working with parents and families as a small change in a family system can create improvement and well-being.
