Executive Function Skills

WHAT IS MEANT BY

EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING?

Executive Function

Executive Functioning skills are the mental processes that allow individuals to plan and organize, control impulses, regulate emotions, remember instructions, multi-task, organize, filter distractions, and prioritize tasks.

Executive Function Challenges

Executive Function challenges are often present in individuals with ADHD, Depression, Anxiety  and ASD.

NU Psychology helps individuals develop the skills to set goals, plan, and organize in incremental steps. Often individuals with this area of challenge benefit from having support to develop unique tools for self-monitoring, motivation, procrastination, and task completion . When Executive Challenges are present, it can be incredibly difficult to start a project, do small tasks, manage daily activities, multitask, and control attention and emotions. Executive Functioning challenges are broken into subcategories and an individual may present with various challenges that range in impact from mild to severe. A brief Executive Functioning assessment can also help an individual see where the levels of difficulty are, and help plan and guide treatment

NU Psychology offers supportive therapy for Executive Function challenges.
