Meet The Team



Meghan Mak

Meghan Mak is an experienced assessment Psychologist with extensive knowledge and formal training in the assessment of developmental, learning, cognitive, attention, emotional, and behavioural concerns. Meghan has conducted psycho-educational and clinical diagnostic assessments for the Calgary Board of Education and the Children & Hospital of Eastern Ontario Preschool Autism Program. Meghan has expertise in specialized assessments, funding options, problem-solving around accommodation-related concerns, and increasing students & capacity for self-advocacy.  Meghan has published and presented on a variety of topics that include assessment of written language in post-secondary students and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Jessica Dawson

Clinical Psychologist, R. Psych

Jessica works with adults and teens and supports with a wide range of concerns including Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Self-Esteem, Emotional Regulation Challenges, and ADHD. She supports individuals experiencing relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, and body image concerns. Jessica is a skilled couples therapist and creates a warm and safe space for clients and tailors her therapeutic style to the age and goals of clients. She supports clients in gaining relief from emotional distress, decision making, improving relationships, and personal growth and overall wellness. Jessica draws from various modalities of therapy including; CBT, Gottman Method, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Attachment, and Mindfulness approaches to provide a range of solutions.

Jennifer Hawkins

Jennifer specializes in working with children and their families. Jennifer is skilled in supporting individuals with Anxiety Disorders, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Challenges, Emotional and Regulation challenges, and Trauma, and Grief and Loss. Jennifer is passionate about supporting children and their families. Jennifer helps children learn to express their thoughts and feelings, build healthy ways to cope, regulate emotions, problem-solve, and build resiliency.

Shannon Kelly

Clinical Psychologist, R. Psych.

Shannon provides strength-based therapy for individuals from a wellness model. Shannon supports individuals with exploring issues related to finding meaningful change, personal growth, and long term wellness. Shannon specializes in the treatment of Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She is also specialized in Parent Coaching and has developed a program to help parents in supporting their children. Shannon supports individuals to develop insight, awareness, and create new patterns of thinking and being. 

Leighton Doty 

MS Clinical Psychology, Psychometrist, Provisional Psychologist (Pending)

Leighton provides counselling for pre-teens, teenagers, and adults. Additionally, as Nu Psychology's psychometrist, she conducts clinical, educational, academic, and cognitive assessments necessary for IPP plans, and educational accommodations. Leighton supports individuals with anxiety, depression, impulse control disorders, mood and personality disorders. She creates individualized treatment plans and interventional strategies in order to tailor each counselling session and/or psychological assessment to the client’s unique and individual needs. Leighton provides a safe, non-judgmental environment, where client’s feel comfortable to explore, address, and challenge difficult experiences, situations, patterns of thinking, and behaviour.

Ashley Gobin

M.ED, Registered Psychologist 

Ashley is an assessment psychologist who completed her graduate degree at the University of Calgary (Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology). She has formal training in completing psycho-educational assessments for both children and emerging adults. Areas that Ashley focuses on includes: Specific Learning Disorders, ADHD, identifying Gifted Learners, Intellectual Developmental Disorders, Anxiety, and Depression. She has worked in a variety of settings including other private practices, early intervention, and currently works with a school board. Ashley practices from a strength-based, client-centered, and from a play-based model.
