Registered Provisional Psychologist

Heather Makowecki

Heather Makowecki is a Calgary psychologist who works with teens and adults, with a special passion for supporting people navigating ADHD, autism, OCD, anxiety, depression, and giftedness.

Before becoming a psychologist, Heather spent nearly 20 years as a geologist in the oil and gas industry. That path gives her a grounded, real-world perspective when supporting adults navigating the intersection of career, identity, and life transitions — including perimenopause, menopause, and major professional change.

Heather's approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and evidence-based. She works primarily from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework, helping clients clarify what matters most to them, build mindfulness skills, and take meaningful, values-driven steps forward.

Heather sees clients at NU Psychology's Killarney clinic and at a psychology clinic in Bridgeland, along with secure online sessions across Alberta.
